Targeted User - Business User - Marketing Campaign Managers
Goal - As a user, I want to use the power of Tableau visualizations and Tableau GAI to create better segmentation of my customer base.
Salesforce tasked my team with designing what it could be like to integrate Tableau’s power of data visualization and next genAI into the daily workflow of a marketing campaign manager.
At the beginning of this project, we needed to put together a concept deck to present up to the executive leadership of both Tableau and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We were given 3 weeks to do this with a cross-org
To do this fast turnaround, I immediately put together a workback plan from the executive meetings that the PMs and architects agreed to. It included both feedback gathering tasks and design milestones.
The feedback plan included creating a slack group for close collaborators that we could get fast feedback from on an hourly basis. I set up a design standup in the morning and a review in the aftern
In large companies, marketing teams have data analysts that can help them create segments for their marketing campaign managers. In these use cases, the analyst starts their flow in Tableau and exports the segment to Marketing Cloud.
I designed the experience for these users and focused on creating an experience for an advanced data analyst inside the Tableau product.
Once published, the segment "automagically" appears in Data Cloud ready to be used by a Marketing Expert to create a highly targeted campaign.
By the end of the 3 weeks, we had a solid conceptual presentation, including three potential engineering directions, that was agreed upon by a large group of stakeholders. The presentation went well and an official team was formed to build the feature.
